Link Building Secret Tip Revealed. 03/14/11

Most of us have experienced our rankings stalling after over using anchor text. Logic tell us, it’s time to start using brand or links such as http://yourwebsite.co.XX or click here anchor to mix it up a bit.

I have recently come across a vast amount of websites which rank competitively without using any anchor text at all, and without links from authority pages or anything special.  We have all seem them floating around!  To put it bluntly, these sites haven’t been touched by anyone in SEO, they were clean.

As most obsessive seo’s , this really bugged me, so I spent the next few days looking into the back link profiles of each website.  I literally tore them apart and found no patterns or reasons to why this was happening. 3 weeks later I took another look and realised I had missed something very subtle but vital. Finally after testing a few theories I cracked it.

Rank Without Anchor Using Anchor Text

Now shouldn’t really be sharing this with everyone, because it’s a little gem, but as about 12 people in reality will read this, I reckon I can risk it;-). Adding to that, maybe 1 out of the 12 will actually be bothered to try it, as it’s easier to pay someone in India 50 dollars to do build some spammy links ;-) .  Sad reality being, it probably works just as good. Google seems to love rewarding spammers these days.

Anyway rant over- This is what I discovered.

First of all I noticed the content on the sites were not related directly to the keyword. I noticed a lot of semantic keywords around the actual link and in the titles.

Adding to this, I noticed the ADSENSE titles were showing the desired keyword the site ranked for. So despite the page content having non desired keywords, Google adsense still picked it up.

This all looks perfectly natural, as the site isn’t trying hard to rank for a particular keyword, and the content on the pages is not specifically focused around the desired keyword. It’s all subtle but works well.

Mix all this up, and throw a simple http://www.website.co.xx link in there, and its perfect.

You only need to do this on about 10 different sites, using ad sense each time to ensure you got the content just right.

The sites don’t need PR, don’t need to be fancy , any old junk will do the trick. It is all about good content and low keyword density, and not just authority.

Sounds simple, and a little too easy, but it takes a bit of practice to get it perfect, but it pays off.

Hopefully this will make you think twice about paying for 5 dollar blog post content next time. ( you know who you all are) ;-)

See your rankings rocket within days of these getting indexed.  I’ve tried it about 8 times now, and got to position 1 every time.

Thank me after you tried it. I will continue this post in the coming weeks.

Goodluck.

Hi, I subscribed to your blog to pick up the odd seo tip, but this one – whoosh! Over my head. Can I ask a few questions to clarify?

So to rank a site using this method, you should create 10 random websites to link to it? These feeder sites should use semantic (ie linked?) keywords around the actual link to the target site, and should also use AdSense? Am I warm?

If I am warm, is using randomly created websites in this way a recognised way to enable a target website to rank competitively?

Sorry for the naivety, but I’m still in the write-good-keyword-rich-content phase to rank a site….

thanks

Hi David, in answer to your question. Firstly, the Adsense is simply an indicator that the content on the page is relevant to the keywords your optimising for. A lot of SEO’s use Adsense to test their content. If Adsense is bringing up the right type of ads, it’s a good indication that Google is reading the content well. You don’t have to leave this active. As for the links, I’m not suggesting you create websites. My suggestion is, the next time you get the opportunity to link back to your website, put your link in as http://www.xxxx.xx . Do not use anchor. The trick is the ensure the website your linking from contains a good range of keywords relating to your topic. Place your link in between this content and you will see some magic!
